Immigration Evaluations

I have been practicing psychotherapy since obtaining my Master’s of Social Work degree in 2008 from New York university, and I have provided psychological evaluations and therapy for many individuals struggling with a wide range of psychiatric disorders and challenges including post-traumatic stress, depression, anxiety, domestic violence, substance abuse, familial separation, and dislocation.

I have obtained advanced training from Immigration Evaluations by Georgia King, LCSW. I have also completed pro bono work for Young Center. I am a certified Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapist which is an evidence-based therapist understanding and supporting individuals with trauma symptoms.

I tailor each assessment to the particular needs of each case, including:

• Asylum Cases – Explaining psychological reasons why a person missed the one-year filing deadline; and detailing how PTSD symptoms provide evidence of the persecution they suffered.
• Extreme Hardship Cases – Identifying unique factors contributing to a person’s psychological distress such as: illness; disability; professional, financial, or academic hardship; or adverse home-country conditions that would affect the petitioner or their family members.
• VAWA Cases – Detailing the person’s psychological symptoms which are common for domestic violence victims; assessing credibility; and where useful, explaining less common phenomena such as ways in which men are abused by female partners.
